Fee:  $25 per week

CAP CARE is excited to offer Camp Counselor opportunities for Day Camp 2022.  Applicants can register through the apply button below or contact CAP CARE at capcare@cambridge.k12.wi.us to set up an interview time prior to registering for the program. Counselors will have the opportunity to plan, lead, and implement activities for children 4K-4th grade. Counselors will also participate in local and away weekly field trips and swim activities. This program will give counselors the opportunity to explore the park and rec field as well as the early childhood field, gain leadership, communication and problem solving skills as well as earn Silver Cord Hours for those in High School.

Counselor in Training Job Responsibilities

 

  • Plans, leads, and implements activities for children
  • Assist in providing high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for Day Camp participants
  • Assist in supervising campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, and general well-being
  • Maintains Day Camp schedule for participants 
  • Facilitate lesson plans for daily activities
  • Creates own weekly craft, STEM, game, and outdoor activity for children 
  • Assist in leading various small and large group activities
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the site
  • Assists in maintaining daily meal/snack tracking
  • Knows and understands all emergency procedures associate with the camp program
  • Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associate with the program, including knowing the whereabouts of children in their room at all times
  • Maintains constant surveillance of pool and water activities

Counselor in Training Hours and Benefits

 

  • Shifts will be available between the hours of 6:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Counselors will be able to set their daily and hourly availability 
  • Once on the schedule, counselors will be responsible for their scheduled shift, not showing up for your scheduled shift could result in removal from the program
  • Counselors in 9th– 12th grade will earn silver cord hours for their time
  • The counselor in Training program will include a shirt, hat, water bottle, and daily snacks. Counselors must provide their own lunch
  • Field trip costs will be included in the program
