Film Club
Lights, Camera, Action!
This year, we'll explore the fascinating history of cinema and discover how movies evolved into the films we watch today. Along the way, you'll learn about every stage of the filmmaking process—from planning and storytelling to filming and editing.
Students will have the opportunity to create their own short films in a variety of styles, including stop-motion animation. As your skills and experience grow, you'll even have the chance to produce a film and submit it to the One Earth Film Festival.
We may also take a special trip to a historic movie theater dating back to the 1870s, where we'll go behind the scenes and watch a classic black-and-white film similar to those shown more than 100 years ago.
In addition, we'll explore the history of physical media and see how people watched movies at home before streaming services existed. Whether you're interested in filmmaking, animation, movie history, or storytelling, this club offers a fun and creative way to experience the magic of cinema.
