Youth Baseball

T-Ball

Dates: Mondays, June 2 – July 14 (No class 6/30)

Time: 6:00 p.m.– 7:15 p.m.                                          

Ages: 5–6     

Location: NMS Diamonds 2 & 3                     

Fee: $35R/$50 NR (before May 4)

         $45 R/$60 NR (after May 4)

T-ball teaches children the proper techniques of throwing, catching, hitting, and running the bases.  A low-key, fun approach will be used to teach the fundamentals to the children.  Children must be 5 years old by June or entering kindergarten in the fall.

If you are interested in coaching T-Ball or Coach Pitch this year, please contact CAP and attend the coaches meeting on Wednesday, May 21st at 6:00 PM over at Cambridge High School's Lecture Lab.

Coach Pitch

Dates: Tuesdays & Thursdays, June 3 - July 17 (no games 7/1 & 7/3)

Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Ages: 6 – 9 or two years of t-ball                          

Location: NMS Diamond 2 & 3     

Fee: $40 R / $55 NR (before May 4) 

         $50 R / $65 NR (after May 4)

In this local league, teams are arranged at random based on the number of participants. Coaches are used to pitch to players on both practice and game days. Practices will focus on fundamental skills, rules of the game, and general gameplay. Teams will also compete with no scores or standings recorded. Game schedules are created and shared with parents in late May.  Those participants who are 8 years old may also consider playing Windmill Softball or Little League.

ESYBL Little League

The Cambridge CAP participates in the Eastern Suburban Youth Baseball League, which includes the surrounding communities of Columbus, Cottage Grove, Deerfield, Fall River, Jefferson, Lake Mills, Marshall, McFarland, Monona, and Waterloo. For more information, please log onto http://esybl.org. Uniforms tops are provided for both Little League groups; players are required to wear gray pants to match.  First year players are provided with a hat. Returning players may purchase replacements by contacting the CAP main office at (608) 423-8108.

There is a mandatory spring “Warm-Up” day for all boys interested in playing American or National League on Saturday, April 12 & 13 (rain or shine)  at the NMS Gyms OR NMSBaseball Fields (weather dependent). Participants need to have proper shoes for either venue. Players assessed will be used in the creation of both National and American league teams. National League teams play regularly on Mondays and Wednesdays, with American League teams playing regularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Practices will start early May or 3 weeks prior to first game and will continue during the season at the discretion of the team and coach’s availability. Parent transportation is required and teams have an opportunity to participate in one tournament before, during, or after the regular season.

Mandatory Warm Up Day- April 12, 12-2:00 p.m. for AL & April 13, 9-11:00 a.m. for NL

ESYBL Little League (National or American League)

Dates: Mid May thru late July

Grades: 3 – 6

Fee: $75 R / $90 NR (before March 14)

$85 R / $100 NR (after March 14)

Registration Deadline: March 28

*Grades based on 2024-2025 school year

Pony Baseball

Dates: Early June thru late July
Grade: 7 (2024 – 2025 school year)
Fee: $80 R / $95 NR(before March 14)
Fee: $90 R / $105 NR (after March 14)

(10 player minimum at deadline)

Pony League is a traveling baseball league (parent transportation required) designed to transition players from Little League to Teener League baseball. The schedule will be set by the league and players will be contacted in regards to practices and games. Uniforms are provided; players are asked to purchase blue socks. There will be a coaches meeting for anyone interested in coaching Pony or Teener on Tuesday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the CHS Lecture Lab. Coaches attending the meeting will receive a 50% discount on their child’s registration!

Grades: 8 (2024-25 school year)
Fee: $90 R / $105 NR (before March 14)
Fee: $100 R / $115 NR(after March 14)

Is your child interested in getting into baseball or enhancing their skills before the season starts? This is the perfect opportunity to learn from Cambridge High School’s very own baseball coaches! Sign up before the deadline to be guaranteed a camp shirt and a new hat for the upcoming season. All sessions will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Please ensure your child is dressed for both outdoor and potential indoor activities in case of inclement weather.
