Little League Umpire Training Course

The CAP will be hosting an umpire training course for all who wish to umpire in the 2012 Little league season.
This course will go over common Little League rules and also highlight Eastern Suburban Youth Baseball League
specific rules. All umpires will receive a CAP umpire shirt after the completion of the course. Dress in active wear.

Co-ed Basketball Camp

A great opportunity for your child to improve their basketball fundamentals! Lead by CHS varsity coaching staff, the camp will emphasize the basic fundamentals of shooting, ball handling, passing, moves with and without a basketball, rebounding, and one–on–one defense. Your child will participate in daily league games. Also included in the cost of this camp is a commemorative t–shirt.

Little Ladies Running Club

Cross Country Boot Camp

Join Mr. B for this running camp that will make you more versatile, competitive and physically and mentally strong! Training methods will include: endurance, hills, repetitions, tempo runs, and strength training, which will give you the tools and edge for the upcoming season. In this fun, exciting recreational soccer league your child will learn fundamentalss, rules and basic plays. Games are played at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., or 10:00 a.m., depending on registration numbers. Practices are held for the different teams at the discretion of their respective coaches. You will be contacted by a coach regarding your child’s team assignment.

U6 Open to children currently enrolled in 4K or kindergarten. U6 is intended to be an introduction to soccer, focusing on the fundamentals of the game and having fun. Children will play small sided soccer (3 on 3) on small sized fields (25 X 30 yards). They play four 8 minute quarters; referees and goalies are not used at this level.

U8 Designed for children in grades 1 and 2; children will play 4 on 4, on a 30 X 35 yard field. They will play four 10 minute quarters; referees and goalies are not used at this level.

U9 The U9 program will be offered to children in grades 3-4 whom are interested in continuing to play recreational soccer. The U9 program will be structured based upon enrollment numbers.

Due to a continued decrease in registration for grades 4-5, CAP will no longer be offering U10 soccer. However, we encourage all soccer enthusiasts to check out the Glacial Drumlin Soccer program. The league offered by CAP is strictly a recreational league, focusing on fundamentals, equal play, and learning basic plays. Glacial Drumlin United (GDU) is a soccer club comprised of over 200 players from the communities of Cambridge, Deerfield, Lake Mills and Waterloo; with ages ranging from eight to nineteen. Fast Pitch Clinic

The Fast Pitch clinic is designed to help your daughter improve basic softball skills: pitching, catching, fielding, throwing and hitting. Demonstrations and drill sessions will be used under the guidance and instruction of the CHS Softball coaching staff. Your daughter will surely improve her hitting, fielding, throwing and love for the game.

Tiger T-ball

Tiger T-ball teaches children the proper techniques of throwing, catching, hitting, and running the bases. A low-key, fun approach will be used to teach the fundamentals to the children. Children must be 5 years old by June 11 or entering 5 year old kindergarten in the fall.

Coach Pitched

Ages: 7 – 9 or those have attended 2 years of T-ball

In this league, coaches are used to pitch to players. The first two sessions will focus on fundamentals, followed by a five week game schedule. More information will be available in early spring; schedules will be set after Little League schedules are completed.

U8-Traveling Softball

Dates: Early June thru early August
Ages: 7 – 9
Location: CHS Softball Diamond
Fee: $35 R / $50 NR

New this year, CAP will be offering the traveling program for U8. The CAP participates in ASA sanctioned Windmill Girls Fast Pitch League. Focus will still be on learning the fundamentals of softball and games will be played on Wednesday evenings. Parent transportation is required and games are played both home and away. Practice schedules will be set by the coach and players will be contacted by coaches to notify them of their first meeting date. Team equipment and uniform tops are provided; girls are required to wear gray pants to match their uniform tops.

Little League

The Cambridge CAP participates in the Eastern Suburban Youth Baseball League, which includes the surrounding communities of Deerfield, Marshall, Columbus and Waterloo. For more information click on http://esyble.org Uniforms tops are provided for both American and National League; players are required to wear gray pants to match.

There is a mandatory spring “Warm-Up” day for all boys interested in playing American or National League on Sunday, April 15 (rain date April 22) from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for NL and 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. for AL at the NMS baseball fields. Parent information meetings will be held in the NMS commons at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., all parents are encouraged to attend one meeting.

Any parent interested in coaching is asked to attend the coaches meeting set for Tuesday, February 21 at 7:15 p.m. in the CHS commons.

American League is a traveling league (parent transportation required). Games begin in early June and are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Coaches will contact players to notify of practice times. Eight year olds are eligible to try out for American League teams.

Pony League is a traveling baseball league (parent transportation required) designed to transition players from Little League to Teener League baseball. There will be a coaches meeting for anyone interested in coaching Pony or Teener on Tuesday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the CHS commons.

The Cambridge CAP participates in an ASA sanctioned Windmill Girls Fast Pitch League. NFL Flag Football

NFL Flag Football will have your child begging for more! Your child will receive a top of the line NFL jersey as part of their participation. New this year, players will participate in training camp on Wednesday, September 5 from 6:30 p.m. – to 7:30 p.m. lead by local coaches and players. A coaches meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 21 at 7:15 p.m. at the CES commons for anyone interested in coaching. Players will be contacted by the coaches as to your child’s team assignment. Watch for information on registration to be in the Cambridge News or on the CAP website in July. Due to the registration process of NFL program, late registrations will NOT be accepted. Anyone needing internet access is encouraged to visit the CAP office, room 116 of the Cambridge High School.
