Ladies Day Away

Dates: Saturdays, April 14, May 12, June 9, July 14 & August 25
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: CHS Computer Lab
Fee: FREE

Have you ever wanted a day to just get away and do your own thing? We’re providing the location, you provide the activity. Quilting, scrapbooking, knitting, sewing, crafting, painting, reading, etc. Come for a couple hours, or join us for the whole day. A quiet area with computers will be available if you’d like to get some work or studying done...away from home.

Do you like to write in your spare time but often feel isolated in the process? Get rejuvenated by being around other people with the same interest. Meetings include progress reports, critique sessions, writing activities, snacks/social time, an occasional speaker and a closing prayer or devotion. Pre-registration through the CAP office is required. *Location for the February 21 meeting is to be determined; please contact the CAP office for location.

Cards with Katie

Dates: Thursdays, April 26 & May 24

Have you ever considered making your own greeting cards? Well this is your opportunity to learn how and get introduced to the hobby of stamping! Participants will make 6 cards in each session- 2 each of 3 different designs. The cards will be general purpose greeting cards. Min 3 / Max 12

Digital SLR Camera Workshop

Date: Thursday, April 12
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: ChS, Lecture Hall
Instructor: John Wollaeger
Fee: $10 R / $15 NR

Do you have an SLR camera, but not sure how to get the most out of it? Get off the AUTO setting by learning how to set ISO, shutter speed and aperture. Control the focus and depth of field in your photos and take more than snapshots. Bring your camera to class so you can play along during the presentation.

Beaded Jewlery

Date: Tuesdays, April 24 – May 29
Time: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Age: 8 & up, (under 13 must be accompanied by an adult)

Fee: $58 R / $73 NR

Learn how to make your own beaded jewelry! All supplies will be provided to make two pairs of earrings, two necklaces and two bracelets, but participants will get to choose their own color and styles. There will be over 200 bead colors and shapes to choose from, materials ranging from crystal, glass, pearls, shells, and metal. We can match your favorite outfi t, make a one of a kind piece to accent your special occasion dress, or make gifts for your favorite ladies!

Basics of Managing Digital Photos

Date: Tuesday, June 26
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: CHS Room 113
Instructor: Julie Woletz
Fee: $10 R / $15 NR

This introductory course will help you get photos off your camera or phone so they can be used in documents, shared with others online, or printed out on photo paper. Participants are encouraged to bring their charged cameras/ phones and USB cables to the workshop. Participants will learn the importance of creating folders to keep fi les organized and discuss ways to back up fi les to prevent loss. Min 3 / Max 12

Introductory Work Processing

Dates: July 10 – 12
Time: 8:00 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.
Location: CHS Room 113
Instructor: Julie Woletz
Fee: $25 R / $37 NR

This beginner workshop will introduce participants to the very basics of Word processing, including changing text size, bolding, underlining, changing colors, letter shape, saving and printing. We will discuss how to cut and copy text, and how to change the line spacing, and margins. Automatic numbering, bullets, and inserting pictures or graphics will also be included. This class is designed for those who have very little or no experience with Microsoft Word version 2010. Min 6 / Max 12
